Qualification

Dr. Matthew Root graduated with honors with a Masters Degree in Physical Therapy from Quinnipiac University in Connecticut. He then obtained his medical degree from the Western University of Health Sciences in Ponoma, CA. His Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation residency was completed at Thomas Jefferson University Hospital in Philadelphia. Dr. Root’s fellowship training was in Interventional Pain and Spine procedures in Santa Barbara.

Matthew Root, D.O.

Matthew Root, DO, is board certified in both Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation and Pain Medicine. His focus is on reducing pain and improving function and mobility, all while showing compassion to his patients. He is well known for his bedside manner and the time he takes to know each patient.

Dr. Root specializes in performing Electrodiagnostic (EMG/NCS) studies, which can be used as a diagnostic tool for compression neuropathies, pinched nerves, and more. Additionally, Dr. Root is skilled in joint and spine injection therapies such as epidurals and nerve blocks.

Dr. Root has been published in nationally recognized medical journals, and his research has been presented at national meetings, including for the American Academy of Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation.
